I hate to be the bearer of bad news but your bathtub is in serious trouble. I have plunged the drain a good bit and gotten large pieces of clog out of the line but it does not seem to have had much effect. My first morning here there was a little water and some residue (that appeared to be organic in nature, but I prefer not to think about it). Anyway, the same reddish-brown particulates where in there the next morning so I decided to give it a taste of the plumber’s helper. As stated above, the plunger was of only limited usefulness. This morning a fair bit of water was standing in the tub where it had been dry after my efforts of yesterday. So, water is coming up into the tub from the drain system which, aside from being very icky, does not bode well for the future of the tub. In short, you should think about calling a professional out here or you may have an Exorcist moment in your future.
Other than that, the plants in the window box look fine but, I will give them a little water before I leave. Thanks again for letting me stay. I slept on the couch but did take a nap on top of your bed at one point when it was too bright in the living room. The impact on your bedding will have been minimal. I picked up the papers that were piling up downstairs and left them on your kitchen counter, though I will probably steal today’s paper if it is there when I leave because, that is just the sort of person that I am.
Had brunch of French Onion Soup [very good] and Eggs Florentine [pretty good] at Cafe Deville yesterday. Walked around NoLita and Soho in general. Got a cool watch and jacket at Paul Frank and some nice smelling balms and unguents at Molton Brown and picked up some presents. If you have not been to Evolution then you should stop in for the finest collection of Phrenology skulls, stuffed monkeys and trilobite fossils a boy could long for. Highly recommended.
Dinner was at Lombardi’s on Spring. I know it is a bit touristy but I had never been there and the pizzas were up to the hype. The Fresh Clam Pie, served without sauce, was superb and their classic Margarita style pizza was equally delicious. That red sauce is next to holy.
All in all, a great trip. The weather was nice and I had a chance to relax rather than scrambling from point to point in Manhattan. See you soon.
Next year in Tensas.
Your Cousin,
Frank
