A couple days of rain means a couple of days when I don’t want to take my camera gear outside. Good thing my orchid is coming back into bloom. The first orchid I ever had was a Phalaenopsis like this one. They are the most common sort of orchid for the home gardener. Orchids are a lot easier to care for than most people think. If you treat them right then they will come back into bloom and be pretty for months. I found my first orchid in a make-shift green house my grandfather had built. An aunt of mine had abandoned two Phalaenopsis hybrids like this one. I was in college and didn’t know much about plants but I nursed them back to health. In retrospect I probably should not have made such a big deal about them because shortly after they bloomed, the same aunt came and took them back. But, I’m over it. I don’t hold a grudge or anything, really I don’t.
