Anna and I took Quinn to the Greater Baton Rouge State Fair last Sunday. Suffice it to say, there is little that is more joyous than watching the novelty of the world unfold in front of a little child, especially if that novelty involves carnies. Quinn is still a little young for some of the rides (and Anna and I were a bit reticent about the likelihood of us all surviving them intact). But, we went to the petting zoo and rode the ferris wheel and hit up a few other favorites. I also ate too much funnel cake and a philly cheese steak from a less than savory trailer.
However, it was all for the best and Quinn seemed to really enjoy herself. The great thing about the fair, other than it being a delight for children, is that the lights make for great backdrops and, of course, the carnies. I think we will be headed back next year.
