I can work with your designers to ensure that they get the images they need for whatever the application. I have lots of experience working with magazines and newspapers as well as providing content for brochures, websites, flyers and other materials your business may need.

Travel expenses for locations over 30 minutes from my home in downtown Baton Rouge can be negotiated prior to booking.

Time-Lapse and Long Exposure Photography

Compress the passage of hours into minutes with a time-lapse movie that showcases the activity at your office, retail store or work site. Display the grandeur of your location with a long, night exposure that shows the stars shifting in the sky around your facility or home. These are very time intensive and specialized techniques, but the results can be stunning. A full day of shooting can render a time-lapse movie of several minutes that is suitable for viral or web-marketing or use on HD television. A night spent photographing a location displays a familiar place in unexpected ways. If you are looking for a unique way to display a location then this may be the option for you.

A full-day, time-lapse movie shoot starts at $600 (excluding music licensing fees).
A night of long exposure photography starts at $500.

Family Sessions

$400 for an hour and a half session (but I’m flexible if we haven’t gotten THAT shot yet). I charge no additional sitting fees or scene arraignment fees. You are paying for a whole session. We can do as many compositions, with as many people, as you like. So, bring along grandma; I’m yours for the whole time and any changes you wish to make are all covered by the basic fee— no up-charges for moving people in and out of the scene or changing location. All family session will produce anywhere from 20-30 (but generally more) edited images suitable for digital use or for printing. Each session includes 2 complementary 6×9 (or 5×7 if you prefer that size) prints.

A disk of all the edited images is available for an additional $150.

Any prints that you wish to order from me are priced as shown in the list below. There is no minimum for a print order. Specialty printing technique prices are available upon request (such as photos printed to canvas or metal).

Family portraits shot on film are also available, just email me for details.

A Word About Professional Photographers

First, keep in mind that when you hire a professional photographer, you are paying for both time on-site and time spent editing. This means that while you may pay for two hours of shooting, the photographer will spend a lot of time editing the photos that you won’t be charged for. Editing often takes as much time as shooting and sometimes a good deal more.

You will quickly discover than photographers charge a wide range of prices. When looking for a photographer to capture important business scenes or family moments, the first thing you want to consider is their individual style. Do you like the work they produce? Does their body of work contain images that excite or intrigue you? Any proficient photographer should be able to work comfortably within an array of styles but they will bring their own aesthetic sense to each project. Make sure that sense is one that inspires you.

Also, be aware that some people charge professional prices without using professional equipment and editing techniques. If they are getting the look that you want, then the underlying mechanics of how they accomplish this are less important but be wary of people who are uncomfortable shooting in any particular condition. An experienced photographer, with the standard equipment of their trade, should be able to produce great photographs in any situation. To be sure, some lighting situations lend themselves to certain looks but, as they say, it is a poor carpenter who blames their tools.

So, look around. See what photographers in your area are charging and what their results look like. Ask your friends about them. Oftentimes, other people will have valuable input on a photographer’s work as well as their professionalism, punctuality and ability to meet your needs. Most importantly, ask the photographer lots of questions. We are not magicians with secrets to hide. Get comfortable, know what you want, then find the right person for the job.

Thanks!

  1. Hello, I’m a web designer and creating a site for a client who is located in La Ventana, Baja MX. I’m doing an exchange for lodging down there. I was wondering how much you sell your photos for use on a website.

    cheers!
